Really good if McCleary doesn't make tomorrow's game 14:04 - Nov 1 with 847 viewsSomethingBlue

He's been excellent for them, mainly in No10 position, I don't think they are as good without him. Would probably mean the three big lads all start again though, and that obviously brings its own problems for us. Injuries obviously an issue at our end too but when opponents' key players are missing we need be making it count given our squad depth.

if that's the case (and donacien isn't available), should woolf get the nod ahead of kvy to give us a bit more height back there?

Akinfenwa sadly was the difference 2 seasons ago.
Made Woolfendon looks like a child.
We'd need the Fridge on him all game.

I'd be worried about us at both back posts to be honest (especially on Saturday's evidence). Definitely an argument for Woolfenden, you're right.

It won’t do us a lot of good but I’d take a point tomorrow. Need an error-free solid away performance.

Every game we throw away points makes the next one more nervy. Quite incredible the hole we’ve dug ourselves into this season.

But Wolfie was playing RB on the weekend so how would playing him again resolve any issues at the back post if they were there Saturday?

The problem with Wolfie is that he's just not a RB - he doesn't look to go forward, every pass is the safe backwards pass to Toto.

agree with woolf not being the long-term answer, cook said he was put in as a stay-at-home-right-back.

just wondering if his height might be more useful than kvy, assuming we take a less gung-ho approach v wycombe

No he wasn't, it was a goalkeeping error from Norris.

Because the fcuk-up was at Penney’s post!

Well yes, just that you said you were worried about both our back posts which would imply that Wolfie wasn't great either.

If you meant just Penney then that's different and I agree.

...even without their best players.

They are incredibly well drilled, something we aren't.

They are very "street wise", something we aren't.

They won't make mistakes, something we will.

They will ruthlessly punish mistakes, something we won't.

0-2.

No they really aren't, have you watched any of their games. They make loads of mistakes, concede error prone goals and have a lot of the goals they have scored are a result of errors either goal keeper or defender errors.

Haven't seen much from them to cause us too much trouble if we turn up.

No, I meant the threat in general at the back posts tomorrow. Was only saying it’s probably going to be a theme of the game so can at least see an *argument* for using Woolf over KVY, that’s about it. No comparable option on other side.

Less sure on the ones about mistakes, but the others are - unfortunately - true.
