What to expect tomorrow? 15:23 - Nov 1 with 4549 views | itfcjoe | Other than probably the worst game of the season as Wycombe are dire to watch. I don't think we have anything to fear, but tey are probably the kryptonite/antithesis to how they play if they get it right - and they have a way of being able to stop other teams playing by fair means or foul. Do we try and shift it up slightly, get an extra big body in team by either keeping Woolf in at RB or sticking Burgess in at LB ahead of Penney? It's not a game I'm looking forward to as will be so much anti-football going on which we will more than likely end up the wrong side of and be accused of being sore losers about.

What to expect tomorrow? on 19:08 - Nov 1 by chrismakin | I compared him to Chaplin as I said id play Piggott in the 10 so we have extra height in the side. Accelerating from players inside the 2nd half is great against tiring players correct, but I don't yet see him ready for a start. We will see of course. We've gone up against certain types already this season and lost trying 'our way' to win some games you certainly do have to match them. |
Once again though, you're attempting to play them at their own game and I think that's a pretty sure-fire way to lose the match. I cannot see any sense in moving Chaplin from where he is doing well to play Pigott in a position which isn't even really his position. I don't think the opposition being tired had anything to do with Celina being able to get away from them. You've not been keen on Celina from the start. I think it should be Celina - Chaplin - Edwards tomorrow assuming Burns isn't fit or isn't playing RB but I doubt it will be. Edwards looked OK on the right although I know you won't agree with that either. We will lose tomorrow if we try and match them, it's a bad idea in my opinion. Are we just going to hoof it up to Pigott? SB [Post edited 1 Nov 2021 19:13]

Celina was my favourite player under Mick. Its not about not being keen. He's just not been fit. Edwards was better on the right. If he plays hopefully he will start getting on the stat charts. After all in his position goals and assists are what you are judged on not how many runs to nothing you make, said by PC himself. Piggott can hold he ball at feet well and will then give us height when defending set pieces.. something we missed and lost the game too when he came off against Cheltenham.. Chaplin for all his strengths is gonna get brushed off the park in the 10 role imo. Need a bit of steel up there. I'd love to believe our own way is enough... but nothing has suggested it will be based on these type of games already lost or drawn this season.

What to expect tomorrow? on 18:55 - Nov 1 by GlasgowBlue | After Saturday's performance I wouldn't Have Wolfenden anywhere near the right back position. |
Isn't he more of a left back than a right back anyway? He was on the right due to missing players wasn't he? If we need more aerial power, then play him at left back and hopefully Donacien is fit to play RB. He isn't going to change the formation, otherwise Burgess in with Nsiala and Edmondson would help.

What to expect tomorrow? on 19:46 - Nov 1 with 793 views | Pinewoodblue | Ahead of the weekend I expected Plymouth to be the more difficult game, nearly predicted a 2-1 loss but like most when it comes to Ipswich games the heart rules the head. Town will win with some comfort tomorrow.

What to expect tomorrow? on 15:34 - Nov 1 by itfcjoe | You have to have some respect for how the opposition will play and make minor adjustments to sort - without matching them like for like at times. Hard to know where we are with injuries, but you often find if somone isn't fit or well enough to be in the 18 on a Saturday then unlikely to be fit to start on Tuesday. So do you stick with Woolf at RB, or go with KVY there? I thought Woolf was better and made a bit more forward progress in second half so may be able to build from that? His ball to Bonne for the chance as an e.g.. |
His piss poor cross that reached Bonne by some sort of miracle, you mean? Woolf was poor on Saturday (in terms of what he offered to the team) and KVY should definitely start if JD isn't available
What to expect tomorrow? on 19:55 - Nov 1 with 782 views | franz_tyson | So who from the under 23’s can deputise at RB? Since we might have KVY, JD and Burns unavailable. I don’t want Woolfenden playing there, but he’s likely to be the only option. That’s the problem with the academy/23’s. You can’t just take players from there to fill in a position. There might be just 1 or 2 to step up, but it all depends which position is vacant. We’ve developed plenty of flimsy number 8’s and 10’s , but we need a sturdy RB.

Edwin Agbaje looked great there in the Youth Cup games last season. Not saying he should play tomorrow, but I was very impressed with him.

What to expect tomorrow? on 20:10 - Nov 1 with 739 views | itfcsuth | Can’t see anything other than a home victory. Would certainly bring Woolfenden out of the side, certainly not a RB. Would keep Penney in, a poor game but has largely been decent at LB - not sure Coulson will play 2 games in 4 days given he’s only just back from injury. Depends on fitness/illness, but would go: Walton Donacien - Edmundson - Burgess - Penney Evans - Morsy Burns - Chaplin - Edwards Bonne
What to expect tomorrow? on 20:11 - Nov 1 with 738 views | WicklowBlue | Play your best fit 11 in their preferred positions. Agree with SB if you start tweaking too much to counteract what the opposition do you aren't going to do it as well. Burgess at LB am I missing something here??? JD or KVY for RB slot if available, if neither are draft in Kenlock (if we can can't remember). Coulson for Penney on the left. If Burns isn't fit then Edwards right and Celina left, Chaplin 10 and Bonne/Piggott up front. The key to this game will be Evans/Morsey being able to keep the ball on the ground and feed the front 3. We've seen in the past how the MM tactics can be unwound by quick passing, moving into space. But the whole team need to be on it and attacking the ball at all times (which we haven't at times) win the second ball and quick pass and move. As others have said we should have the quality to deal with hoofball, press tactics. I firmly believe we should focus on improving what we do rather than worrying about the opposition.

I presume by that you mean 'left back at home'...him and Penney shouldn't be anywhere near the team after saturday. I'd rather go 3 at the back with Burgess than play either of them again.

Really? We do nearly took a point and could easily have taken three against Plymouth who are by far the best team in this league at present. Wycombe aren't a shadow on them. Sometimes it's good to listen to the players and manager. Morsy said he was impressed with wolfy so I'm sure he will start if donacian isn't fit. Celina should start and we shouldn't worry about the physicality. Get the ball down okay good quick football and they won't cope. Look at their defence against fleetwood! By the way fleetwood are not a bottom half of this league team and will be in the top half. We did well to beat them.

Seems a bit OTT to not want to play Penney or Woolf again

Does feel like both get a raw deal given their season as a whole. Someone has to be the scape goat though.

What to expect tomorrow? on 15:43 - Nov 1 by homer_123 | The only change to make would be dropping Woolfy in there for KCY if Donacien isn't available. I'm assuming, that JD isn't fit to be honest! To be fair, if JD is avialable, then he goes back in. If not, KVY for me. [Post edited 1 Nov 2021 15:46]
