All of that sequence illustrates how difficult it is to accurately reflex kick a spinning, bouncing (probably also wet) ball on a slippery pitch. Where it goes is more down to luck than judgement.

Looks awful, but I think it was case of get anything on it, and it looks like his weight was on his left foot, which otherwise would have been the proper implement for hooking the ball out to our left wing. As it was outside of right foot at a very awkward angle was all that was possible in the split second available, and probably saved a goal. Looks worse than it was, although I am an unalloyed positive thinker!
