Paul cook: "We'll probably have 15,000 tomorrow" 11:53 - Nov 5 with 2089 viewsgeg1992

Looked at the seat map and hardly any tickets have been sold! Weird as although not a big game, would expect people want to turn up as it's cheap still.

Season ticket holder, would be going if I could sit on my usual seat or at least in that part of the ground, but that's not open. Short-sighted penny pinching by the Club.

It's really not an issue. They're all the same seats (except in Cobbold, where you need to be under 5'6" to fit).

I'd be surprised with certain sections/stands closed if there are even 15,000 seats open

Doh! It's not the seat that matters, it's the view. That's why I chose my seat in the first place.

And if they have to close stands, close SBR lower and keep the upper open.

A total waste of steward/ catering costs.

As for the people guessing the attendance, Oldham have sold around 400 tickets.

In the overall scheme of things, that's a penny pinching reason.

I can see why they do this- surely there's no point in staffing / cleaning/stewarding areas that don't need to be used for a game.

In any case, putting supporters closer together rather than dotted all over the ground creates a better atmosphere.

My ST seats are not being used tomorrow so we are quite happy to visit another part of the ground for a change.

Thing is they close both end upper tiers, should keep one open, the views are great, when I've sat in the only upper tier that's available, can't see all the pitch.

Have to agree. Shuffling supporters around to shut stands or parts of stands is not a great idea Covid or not. Add in the pandemic and it's really short sighted. Then factor in the cup tie history in past ten years or more. Tenner or not when people also factor in petrol, parking and food it's hard to justify going.

Great point re covid. Where I sit in can get drafty at tines, but that's good if there's covid on the air.

So you're claiming that you find the upper-tier view behind a goal better than the elevated view from on/around the half way line?

I normally sit in the upper SBR, but gladly switch to a better view in the Pioneer when we have cup games.

Yes, Upper West was built too close to the pitch, OK if you're at the front but otherwise you can't see the near touchline

As others have said, if we hit 10k we'll have done well for this one.

I think I would go if I lived in Ipswich but not going to get the train up for this one.

It does tend to undermine the "Town fans demand cup run" narrative if nobody turns up. Mind you, three home games in a week etc
