The Arizona Pension Fund is currently totalling $15.7 billion..... on 23:10 - Nov 8 with 1287 views | Guthrum | You can see why dropping a few tens of millions into a risky-but-potentially-lucrative, fairly long-term punt on an English football club is not a big deal for a fund of that size.

It literally says in the article where the main profits came from: "The highest performing asset classes included domestic stocks, which generated a 43.7 percent annual return, and private equity buyouts and venture capital, which generated a 53.2 percent annual return." Need to read past the headline. SB

It would be pretty hard not to have made decent money from equity funds over the last 18 months...even some of my l'il old global/tech tracker funds have gone up 60-70% from pre pandemic levels. Anyone buying the dip in Mar/Apr20 has seen 100% growth in some cases...

indeed it was a good time to be in us equities. what is interesting is that they clearly have a high allocation to such 'risk assets'. current regulation means that it would be very hard for an equivalent uk pension fund to have such a positive asset allocation. [Post edited 9 Nov 2021 11:20]

| And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show |

Brinsley Schwartz can help you with that. If you google our ohio-based owner he's not backward in coming forward with his investment strategy. Property dear boy - buy it chdap and revalue it - hey presto a profit, at least on paper.

Brinsley Schwartz was born in Woodbridge & was a decent guitarist, notably with Graham Parker & the Rumour.
