But Paul Warne has taken this Rotherham side up on less of a budget than us, not once, but twice, and now looking good for a third promotion. Could we just do what Norwich did when Lambert spanked them with Colchester and just get him as our manager instead? Closing on on what 15 games unbeaten as well. We haven't had that since relegation. Could do a lot worse than him if Cook goes lets be honest! They fight and are organised if not the best footballing side in the world, exactly what you need for this league. We may have a few lower end Championship standard players in the squad, but for whatever reason it's not gelled, it's not working, it's just so painfully average again.

Destined for mid-table again. When does the misery end for Ipswich? Norwich winning as well. Weekend ruined!

I know I am in the minority here, but I couldn't give a hoot about neat and tidy football in this league, or playing out from the back with UEFA Badge formations trying to over complicate it. This one up top nonsense isn't working, and didn't work for the last Paul either! Let's just get a manager in to get us promoted and worry about style once the club is up in the top 5 of the Championship, until then lets play for points like everyone else does and stop being so naïve.

I’m done with Cook tonight.. I’m just bored of the false promises and utter bang average results, combined with a more rigid insistence to play this stale formation. Do one cook and take your scouse mates with you.

It just shows that if you hire only one half of a management team it usually doesn’t work out.
Lambert without Culverhouse and now Cook without Richardson.

He was appoint in what 2016 and by 2018 he had them promoted, would he have kept his job had he not achieved that? We sacked Lambert for not achieving that in roughly the same period. Were we wrong to sack Lambert or did he need more time?

Explain? What does my sister have to do with this? She's currently unwell with a serious bout of Covid on a ventilator so not really cool to joke about someone's family. So a bit of a sore one for me, sorry.

Cook has over 700 games under his belt as a football manager.
He's not some rookie who's been out-thought by a wily old pro, here.

Just putting that out there.

We sank like a stone didn't we, the only club to have been relegated in October. He did absolutely nothing to keep us up, I know Evans hardly backed him in that window either but he wasn't even smart enough to play for points in what was a pretty weak Championship that season, which is why it took an age for relegation to be official.

To be fair the players have to take some responsibility for the position as well, they have hardly set the league on fire. Makes some of the stuff written about them a bit embarrassing to be honest.

Ipswich were wrong to appoint Lambert, Hurst, Keane, Jewell & now it seems that Cook is also a dud. Common factor is Marcus Evans.
Whatever the public bravado from the new owners, they must be seriously scratching their heads about Cook.

Last time we appointed a Rotherham legend who had enjoyed success at one club didn't work out for us.

I suspect the current owners will have a better idea of how to appoint a manager than to go with the last one to beat us.

If he was given a good wage, good budget and sold a vision whereby he could be managing a long term Championship side in a few years which would open his options up to further his career elsewhere I don't think the fact he supports Norwich will stop him coming here. The likes of Sutch and Fox were Ipswich supporters and played up there. It's a career after all.
