The difference is, Chambers and Ward were older but could organise the likes of Woolfie and Kenlock to do the basics well, Wilson was a decent defender for this league too. The keepers were more settled with a more stablished backline in there. Chambers communicated the whole game, love or loathe him, he was the captain and veteran player and he did that bit very well even if footballing wise he wasn't the best. I am not arguing we should have kept them, just pointing out the reason we've done so badly at the back since they have left. We don't have that this season, Bonne has done a bit of that, Morsy had one game doing that, but there no fight or leadership in that mob, not an ounce of it. Does Cook inspire fighters? Two full squads have so far failed to show any fight with him as boss, the only difference is he signed these guys and he know most of them from before... | |
