I've removed that thread as the links in the original post were promoting inaccurate speculation regarding the pandemic. Am torn between leaving things like that up for them to be dissected and pulled apart - I think there's something to be said for that as the same misprepresentations will inevitably appear on wider social media - or removing them as soon as their lack of veracity is pointed out.

There was nothing in the original post that can be proven to be inaccurate because the reasons for the drop in cases in Japan have not been firmly established so by default are speculation at this stage.
If somebody had posted it was entirely down the vaccine programme ( without any evidence of that being the case ) I'm guessing that would have been absolutely fine?
If we are not allowed to post mainstream analysis and the considered views of a medical Doctor looking at the possible reasons then i'm not sure what we can post anymore. Perhaps you should ban all Covid related posts unless the BBC confirms it to be true.

Useless though he is, Cook’s not quite as harmful as covid. Although the stress on my heart watching us stumble through division 3 is not insignificant.

Apart from the initial claim, the wholly misleading 'this is how viruses mutate' stuff and the laughableivermectin video.
And the bit where you 'forgot' the most important part, which is that Japan is widely vaccinated and masking/distancing compliant.

Why don't you just let people make their own minds up rather than banning people. It's a discussion board after all.
Not really the point, it's about false information being promoted on an obviously sensitive topic. Not sure I want any part.
I take the discussion board angle, which is why I'm not always necessarily keen to remove such posts as I think it's helpful that false information is deconstructed and shown for what it is.
