I bought a selection of incandescent 100w and 60w bulbs about 15 years ago.
Unused they pretty much last forever although I only ever have one in use and all the rest are energy saving ones.

I actually have the IoT lightbulbs for smart control. Practially speaking, the hallway lights turn themselves on when my phone is within a defined distance to the router. I can also turn off all the lights if I roll into bed without having to drive myself round the bend wondering if I forgot to.

I think you must be doing it the wrong way round. You turn the light off as you leave the kitchen, not as you enter. |  |

Wait until you start looking at lumens instead of watts - it will blow your mind.
As for LED lights they never last as long as promised, so I’m not convinced they really pay for themselves before ending up in the bin. |  |

I have Philips hue bulbs in the lounge and they’re pretty cool but cripplingly expensive. I would also say that all these modern light bulbs may be very efficient but they’re not exactly bright are they and they can take ages to warm up. |  |
