Enjoyed the talk on the Scots.
The Welsh in me feels left out!

As I properly got into the team in the mid 2000s the ones that come to mind for me are Tom Lawrence and Jonny Williams.

Would enjoy hearing of some more too.

I've heard about Geraint Williams. Was he any good?

Poll: Apologies I'm bored. How many signings will we have by Plymouth at home.

Geraint Williams was great. Imagine Cole Skuse, but as if someone had squished him from above and he was now a foot shorter and 10 inches wider.

John Elsworthy would win that category for me.

Gavin Williams was very good for the 1 or 2 games every 12 weeks he was able to play.

I'd Say Geraint, was a rock.

Sure you know this, but for the others on the board - ELsworthy was named in the Wales squad for the 1958 World Cup in Sweden.

However he didn't travel because the Welsh FA could only afford a certain number of tickets for the boat/plane(?) and hotels, so opted to take the dignitaries and their wives instead of the reserve players.

Geraint Williams probably. We could do with someone like him now.

Notable mention for loanee Tom Lawrence. He's probably the most exciting Welshman we've had, although Jonny Williams (1st spell) runs him close.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

Billy Reed was the first I believe, but folk always seem to forget Lewis Price. He had a long career with many clubs (often on the bench), but did amass 11 Welsh caps I believe. He is still in the game today .

Yes, he was named in the 22 but did not travel.

He was prolific. I think his goal record slightly fell short of both Ian Rush and Mark Hughes, but there can't have been many closer.

That has to be the right answer but sadly befor my time. My dad used to go on about Doug ‘Dai’ Rees as one of his favourites for Ipswich. He played 356 times for us.

For me, I guess Of those I’ve seen, Geraint Williams (‘George’). To those that never saw him play, he was a really good, solid player. A defensive midfielder that could play further forward. He was combative, good in the tackle, could get about the pitch and read the game well.

He played in much the same position as Skuse but was in my view a far better player. His goal scoring was 50% better than Skuse’s too with three in 217 appearances. Ahem, not his strength and he used to get plenty of shouts of ‘shoot!’ Whenever he got near the goal. A good player.
