Van Morrison appreciation thread 12:26 - Dec 3 with 2682 viewsThe_Last_Baron

Ladies and gentlemen, as it's Friday we should be enjoying some music and there's nobody better to get you in the mood for Friday night drinking than Van the Man.

Lots of great tunes to choose from, my favourite is Cyprus Avenue off the Astral Weeks album. Funnily enough, I once spent a weekend visiting a friend who lived in the very street.

What's your favourite from the great man?

Some great songs, particularly Cypress Avenue, but the bloke is a total arsehole.

Can't stand the man

My Mrs went to see him in the 1990's. he was a miserable Koont all evening, not interacting with the audience once.

When he finished the last song he walked off stage. A few minutes later he walked back on to what the audience assumed was an encore.

He picked up his sunglasses from the mic stand and fooked off again.

I liked a lot of his early solo music, and went to see him twice, once in the late 70s and once in the early 80s. On neither occasion did he say a word to the audience, on neither occasion did he play an encore.
The first concert was about 40 minutes, during which he just played his latest album, then walked off. I went again because the new wife liked him and he did pretty much the same again.

I wonder why you of all people are posting about him today. Low-level covid trolling, yet again. Slow clap.

If you want audience interaction go to the circus.

Cypress Avenue was the hip hop version of Cyprus Avenue he performed with Cypress Hill in 1993. A hit by any standards.

Good spot.
He was creaming himself about Novak Djokovic a week or so back.
He’ll be nuzzling up to Matt Le Tissier next.

Van Morrison has gone down the same Covid denying hole as Clapton, hasn't he.

Nah. I had the misfortune of seeing him once. Terrible gig. No intereaction and dull and boring.
I tried, but now filed under "Worst gigs ever".

Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.
