No one lined up to take his place according the statement read out on SSN just now.

Suspect they have a pretty good idea. Can't imagine that they haven't been thinking about this for a while. It won't have come down to 1 disappointing draw in the FA Cup.

It's amazing that a manager who has got everything right since he came here has got the sack......

Likewise, this is sooner than I thought but he really can't complain. Wycombe should have been a springboard to bigger and better things, instead we've fallen away since then and put in some of our most tepid performances of the season. Who knows what goes on behind the scenes but it hasn't felt right here for some time really.

Glad our owners have shown a bit more knowledge on football than a huge proportion of fans who blindly follow anything Cook said.

I think I am surprised rather than shocked (maybe a little bit shocked) but it might have saved our season because all it looked like we were going to do this season is qualify for next season's Pizza Cup.

Now I believe we have a chance of promotion although it might have to involve a trip to Wembley.

Not sure it will help our promotion chances , given that most on here appear to be of the opinion that ship has already sailed.

me to PJH.

Its a tall order but hopefully a bit of new manger bounce, a couple of Jan signings and we'll can be right in the playoff mix... i have hope again. It had evaporated under Cook much as i liked him, he was failing as a manger here.

He'll really regret those backroom staff appointments...i think it could have been so very different.

It was getting very close to being out of sight and we cannot afford to lose many more games but I think we still have a chance now.

I would say we had no chance this season from here with Cook still here, now that he is not I think there is a chance.

I was expecting to lose the next two games with Cook, we might still lose them, but I am looking forward to them more than I was.

A lot depends on how the players that only came here because of PC react if they get picked by whoever is picking the team.
