Jeffers, Wigan kitman e.t.c.
I presume they will also be departing?

Wouldn't be surprised if they all were let go.

If they've got no one lined up then I would be amazed if they were let go right now.
When the new man comes in, then they'll be gone I'm sure.

I am not sure they are being held against their will.

It will be the sack for the lot of them.

And good riddance.

Did it say that? I don't remember seeing that unless it was updated after I read it.
If so, who's taking training Monday? Ashton?

‘We thank Paul and his team for their efforts’.

Klug and McGreal on Monday I suspect.

I'd not trust that rabble with a Sunday league team.

Interesting. Doesn't directly say they've been relieved of their duties, only Cook.
But I can see why you might have that take.

McGreal isn't one of Cook's coaching staff, and neither is Dyer. We're covered.

I have no idea what Cook was thinking with his coaching team appointments. No experience and no deeper knowledge - I think his choices have ended up costing him his job.

Would have to agree. Not a clue between them. Think cook with good coaching staff could have been really good.

And where does Reid fit in? Surely gone as well.

Not that he's a coach, but y'know what I mean.

There’s been a space on the club website for an assistant manager all season. Ultimately, I suspect that was his undoing.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Obvious innit. If they’ve been involved in getting the players ready for matches, we don’t want them anywhere near the club.

I’ve not read the statement yet (will do that next), but what are the odds on McGreal as caretaker? Must have been pretty short. Or is Klugg stepping in as usual? (I’ll go and read now to kill the suspense).

Why are you getting snippy? The statement clearly does not say, "Paul Cook and his team have been relieved of their duties", it only references Cook.

I’m not. You’re the one saying the coaching staff might still be here, when clearly in the club statement it says they’ve gone.

Town CEO, Mark Ashton, said: "Firstly, we would like to thank Paul and his team for their efforts in what has been a difficult transition period for everyone.

That’s from the club website. Direct quote.

Yep - was ultimately his downfall. It was the biggest question mark I had against him. No doubt if we were doing well no-one would have worried, and I'm sure the atmosphere at Playford Road would have been buzzing with the banter. But the experience wasn't there for when things weren't going to plan.

Ready! Steady! Cook!

I'd say not, but with a game coming on Tuesday, we don't really have time to change shapes and systems without being at a disadvantage. Odds are they'll all go, but who knows.
