Well I for one blame the parents! ;-)


Nothing wrong with someone who doesn't know something asking a sensible question, though. Now teach them in a hands-on way:

Get a big pot of double cream, put it in a stand mixer on medium for a while and you will see it suddenly go to butter and buttermilk. Squeeeeeeeeeeeze the life out of it through a clean muslin or cotton cloth. Salt to taste.

When chilled back down it will be the best butter you have ever had.

And a great bonding activity.

Save the buttermilk for brining Chicken (thighs or breast, skin on or skinless).
