Red Bull in football. 14:40 - Dec 8 with 459 viewsMattinLondon

Interesting article regarding Red Bulls involvement with Salzburg. They don’t own that particular club anymore but it’s clear that a long term vision based on worldwide scouting and youth has helped that club.

I know that some have issues with Red Bull but they seemed to have taken Salzburg forward.

Where did you read that they don't own Salzburg any more? Pretty certain they still do

Sponsors, not owners as I understand it.

Was very interested in the RB model some while back - after RB Leipzig beat Spurs in the Champions League.

Incredible football corporation, a really modern structure.

They have incredible scouting, they buy low, develop and sell high - Timo Werner, Dayot Upamecano, Naby Keira, Saudi Mane, Patson Daka, Erling Haaland.

They notably develop coaches to fit into the RB image across the board (high press/high intensity) - Ralph Hassenhuttl, Julian Nagelsmann, Jesse Marsch.

They owe so much gratitude to Ralf Ragnick for what he did built there.

They did this to get around the fact that Salzburg and RB Leipzig were both competing in the Champions League. Salzburg is now owned by a Red Bull subsidiary, so for all intents and purposes, Red Bull still owns and manages them (just not officially)
