Not so much throwing a dead cat on the table but a bouncing baby girl.

It's an irrelevance.

Boris needs to go right now.

I see the Sun have turned on him, that's usually the beginning of the end.

The former, but given they didn't make it a front page story yesterday, the tables have turned and a number of columnists have stuck the knife in.

Good. Just need the Mail to properly stick the knife in now and that should be it.

The mail haven't been very warm to Johnson either, and for a little longer

Times Radio was all over him this morning too.

All those in the media that would normally back a tory PM are turning on him.

I wonder which tory they would rather have now.

And Ant and Dec. Once they turn on you, your done. Maybe they could put Johnson in the castle, but like in a dungeon, for good and throw away the key.

Hopefully we’ll see Johnson resigning soon saying that he wants to spend more time with his families.

Well, it depends who's going to replace him

The Sun seem to be critical of the sensible new measures being brought in - are they angling for someone even worse...

Do you reckon? Or they've found their sacrificial lamb in Stratton and he'll continue to brush it aside on the basis that he wasn't there and didn't know anything about it (as unrealistic as that sounds). 'These pesky staffers getting up to no good...'.

I've no idea if this will be enough. I'd have thought it would need a sustained period of pressure from the Tory-friendly media to turn people's minds. It took them a couple of decades to dismantle our EU membership afterall.

I hope I'm wrong. I'm finding it increasingly frustrating that they face no consequences for their lawlessness and ineptitude, and show a complete disregard for anything other than their own campaigning all the time.

It's literally every day. Pretty much every time he speaks he lies or deceives, even at the dispatch box (I've no idea why he's allowed to get away with it).

I wouldn't say he's got impeccable timing - as is often the case, A Johnson has failed to pull out on time.

(That is to say, the leadership of the country- I'm sure the baby girl will grow up to be a gem)

There’s a lot of backbench revolt but Johnson’s in quite a unique position. In normal circumstances the people most likely to support a leadership challenge are those with the smallest majorities afraid of losing their jobs, but most of those are the new intake in the North/Midlands. Despite Johnson’s failures, a lot of them owe him their seats. Is someone like Gove or Truss likely to have the same appeal? That might be what keeps him on for a bit longer.

If they lose the North Shropshire by-election next week that could be a game-changer.

What pleases me most about this thread is that most contributors are referring to the buffoon by his surname. I will NEVER refer to him by his first (or to be precise second) name because it sounds affectionate and cuddly.
