I think Trump has already been subpoenaed, it has now included his two kids

Unlike the UK the US tends to take fraud very seriously, and hands down what might be thought absurd sentences, only that they will never serve the whole term and so will die in jail.
It will be interesting to see what the US courts regard as his part in the insurrection of a year ago. Perhaps it will finally be prison - served in orange county jail, per chance ? |  | | |

The difference this time is he stuck his head much further over the parapet by becoming President. Makes him a much bigger coup for a prosecutor seeking re-election (or after higher office).
On a side-note, politicised justice is, for me, one of the weirdest things about the US system (and those of some other countries, e.g. Italy). People wanting a complex technical role have to go through a public - often party-aligned - popularity contest to get the job. |  |
