Tasty this. I like the suggestion of freezing their NYC assets for not complying. It’d not really damage him financially but be really annoying and petty which is the currency he knows best.

Trumps up on charges on 18:18 - Jan 3 with 959 views | HARRY10 | I think Trump has already been subpoenaed, it has now included his two kids "The New York attorney general's office has subpoenaed two of former President Donald Trump's children for testimony as part of its civil investigation into whether the Trump Organization manipulated the values of its properties." They are accusations that the Trumps inflated the value of his properties to raise mortgages on them, and then undervalued them to reduce the tax liability. Meanwhile "....the committee has texts and other documents that show what the President was doing and not doing at the time, including some from former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows. The new details about there being first-hand information from inside the West Wing serve as a warning to Trump that his relentless efforts to hide the truth about a day that will live in infamy may not work. And it may deter other witnesses from holding out against the committee." Some had rather niavely thought this had all gone away. Whereas it has been a case of collecting the evidence. Unlike the UK the US tends to take fraud very seriously, and hands down what might be thought absurd sentences, only that they will never serve the whole term and so will die in jail. It will be interesting to see what the US courts regard as his part in the insurrection of a year ago. Perhaps it will finally be prison - served in orange county jail, per chance ?

He isn't likely to serve a Federal sentence in a County Jail. Let's be honest, he isn't likely to serve a jail sentence, but the aim is to keep him tied up for the next four years, and send down as many of his enablers as possible.

The difference this time is he stuck his head much further over the parapet by becoming President. Makes him a much bigger coup for a prosecutor seeking re-election (or after higher office). On a side-note, politicised justice is, for me, one of the weirdest things about the US system (and those of some other countries, e.g. Italy). People wanting a complex technical role have to go through a public - often party-aligned - popularity contest to get the job.
