HOT TAKE: Cook's time here 15:51 - Jan 8 with 744 viewswkj

Have you lot ever had a manager who likes to be mates with everyone. You love working with him, but know the development of the team isn't doing so well?

I have a feeling that Cook's team might have done the whole matey matey approach - we are so much more technical now, that can only be down to training.

No doubt about it. It’s been a blessing for McKenna having these games called off to give him and Pert some time at Playford. It’s much more fluid than the Wycombe game and there are noticeable differences in tactical changes from the last game too.

Possibly so. No doubt Cook is a passionate manager and has done well, he'll do well again - but he just didn't get this team playing as well as they clearly can.

There always seems to be 2 options of players to pass to and they are all in clear space, pass and move, Gills players do not know what has hit them, don't know where to look as the player they were with is now in space. What a difference a real coaching team can make to the same group of players.

I agree with all this, but Gillingham were poor and caught cold by our fluid start,

Remember, the last time we had a couple weeks of training, we then lost 1-5 at home to Bolton and looked liked we'd taken the 2 weeks off

to See this today is amazing.

He hasn't done anything without Leam Richardson, he really missed his regular first team coach while at Town.

Given the fact many of these players turned out against Oldham, who are terrible in L2, I can't be too invested in GIllingham being poor. Sure, one of our easier opponents this season - but we look the real deal. Something we couldn't do vs any of our L2 opponents this season.
