....so doing PMQ's. Shame!

Having a QC the other side of a liar to pull apart their story would appear a very good thing

I get what you are saying, it is just that the greasy piglet hates being questioned by a woman and he goes to pieces

It will be interesting to see how Johnson fares today

Rayner far better though! More impact with 'normal' people.

I just think today needs less shouting and more forensic dissection of Johnson.

Starmer is better placed to do that.

I’m sure Johnson will just lie without consequence as usual though

Think it needs him rather than Rayner today actually — excellent though she can be.

Sadly no.

Starmer alone gets 6 questions before handing over to Blackford.

Pervert.

Either will do me (for PMQs). Both infinity better than the liar Johnson. What’s missing though is Johnson being pulled up for misleading the House. Until that happens it’s all a farce.

If ONLY he'd take up the Dear Leader's highly credible 'I have a letter from Mrs Trellis in North Wales' approach rather than actually asking questions, eh?

Dominic Grieve has just said Johnson should resign if he has misled Parliament.

First Tory MP who I think has said it in an interview

Not the first. The leader of the Scottish Tories Douglas Ross was the first.

Good spot.

Banner on Sky News still had him as an MP. He left in 2019.

But yea, he was AG in the Tory party

He was very vocal in the remain camp. Google says after they removed the whip he later stood as an "Independent" at the last election.

Defo no love lost between him and Johnson.

The Tories are so far very quiet in their lack of support for him, I guess the silence speaks volumes atm.

Be interesting to see how they are at PMQs. At the end of the day it's pretty much down to them whether he stays or goes and thus far they have backed him when it was clear to everyone else what he's like.

Assume they’ll back him until he is proven to have broken the law or he will cost them seats.

I do wonder if he’ll resign, as a huge motivation is money for him and he’ll get a lot more not being PM.

This was an exchange just before Grieve came on. They are spineless

They'll back him until it dawns on them that Johnson has become an electoral liability (if indeed that happens)

Self preservation, self interest - all put ahead of the country's national interests. How else can you explain them voting for him in the first place?

Conservative MPs are in a somewhat invidious position. If they come out too strongly against the PM, they run the risk of upsetting the more fanatical Boris-lovers among their constituency party membership. If they back him too slavishly, they may alienate their wider electorate. Either way, it endagers their chances of reselection/reelction.
