Do you not understand that these forums have massive sway these days? You’ve killed it. We may go on to bigger better things, who knows? Your bitching and whining on here is picked up and has a massive ripple effect. Fking knobs the lot of you. For weeks you’ve been stamping your feet like little girls and it gets picked up when all you needed to do was ride it out for a bit. Pathetic. Cook always comes good, he always has done, talk to any Pompey, Wigan or Chesterfield fan.
I’m in Pompey tonight and they’re all shaking their heads. Dkheads the lot of you. Happy to get banned on the back of this. You’re ridiculous. The ramifications are massive which may be placated with money but fk me; learn to kick a ball and know what you’re talking about before you lash out in anger.
A massive shame and a massive shame on you. Cook is working hard. What are you doing other than idly pointing fingers and drawing on nonsense stats.
Nothing but contempt for you lot and your baseless insights into football when you’ve never even kicked a ball. | Poll: | Saturday music poll: Suffolk's greatest musical export | Blog: | From Despair to Where? |

Credit where credit is due though, it turns out, they *can* organise a piss up.

Seems that 'they' , judging by the most recent apology, doesn't just involve political advisors but also civil servants.

What apology? I have yet to see an apology for the behaviour or rules breaches, only expressions of regret and apology for people's perceptions of them.

As were many thousands of others fighting this virus… but still followed the law/guidance to the letter despite the need to let off some steam. It beggars belief that they believe they were a special case above all others also fighting the good fight - and it also turns out it wasn’t a “rare lapse of judgment” but something happing repeatedly.

From a relative in the NHS there was no time, or energy left for any get togethers after work. As a nurse, he has said that you just hauled yourself off to bed, then back the next day for more of the same -hoping that it would not get you. It is sickening to hear the weasel words of pen pushers who claim to have worked hard . Those on the 'fronting' who dealt with the infected worked hard, and in many cases lost their lives. All the scum at number 10 did, was to lose any sense of moral judgement. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Agree with all of this, except that there was never any moral judgement to lose.

Political advisors, or more precisely Special Advisors (Spads) are civil servants. At least in name. They don't ever behave with the propriety expected of career Civil Servants. In an early episode of Yes Minister, Jim Hacker arrives with his advisor, who is deftly steered by Sir Humphrey into the bowels of the Ministry, never to be seen again. That's the way to deal with them.
