It also shows the leak is coming from his inner circle, not people who have left as this is very new

Just needs a big Scooby doo reveal at the end to finish him off. If it wasn’t for those pesky kids…

He'll have thrown half of Westminster under the bus before he admits any wrongdoing. So not only is he a brazen liar, he's also willing for normal working people to take the hit for him along the way. What a cnt.

But we already knew that.

And whatever he does next will more than likely need friends in Westminster. Not the cleverest plan.

But then this is Boris

I’d have thought Javid was in with a decent shout of the leadership if Johnson is forced to resign?

He’ll be in the final five which whittles down to two. I think Truss will be the only non BAME candidate.

You know how it works in Westminster. If there is any truth in this, he is busy sawing his own legs off.

I used to enjoy that New Statesman parody series, confident that we’d never actually have a tory PM quite so morally bankrupt.

Part of me now wants BJ to carry on, just to witness the pitiful meltdown of an ambitious and indulged idiot way out of his depth.

Unfortunately, the on-course vet is going to put the screen up soon and all we’ll hear is the hollow, single, reverberating rifle shot that signals the end of a horse that should never have lifted its miserable, mucus ridden carcass off the grubby stable floor.

Sorry daveU, hope you didn’t spaff your life savings on this nag going the full distance.

I still can't work out whether this parties and other cock ups are down to Johnson usual incompetence, indifference or that he buys into the 'rightie' view that opposes vaccines/lockdowns.

A good case can be made for all three.

Nothing he does here on in will change the perception of these events, that right minded people have. And then to only own up when the evidence became overwhelming is not a good idea either.

Whilst the Royal family have shown what needs to be done. Unfortunately the Tories need a direct replacement, not something required at Windsor.

And anyone with any sense will want to keep their powder dry rather than take on the poisoned chalice than put themselves forward at this stage. Which brings is to Liz Truss, who even by Tory standards, is not considered the sharpest knife in the box (see her comments today that suggest she is determined to retain that thought).

But move they must, because fat boy is continuing to tarnish the reputation of the party - with the thought it might get worse, as we don't know if there's anything else to come out.

I would expect them to try and agree a successor, before giving the gut bucket the heave ho. But it won't be an easy task as there is now a growing divide within the party, as shades of Monty Pythons election night, with their Silly Party and a slightly Silly Party. Only in their case it is the swivel eyed against the slightly swivel eyed.

In a remarkable, odds-on long shot, the vet missed a vital organ and the thoroughbred tory stallion shakes its miserable head, grunts incomprehensibly and hauls its considerable bulk off the cold wet grass.
‘Phwoarr, dodged another one there..’

Laura Kuennsberg slinks over, strokes his golden mane and simpers….

I think it'll only be one of Truss or Sunak in the final two because they'll both be going for the same voters. The other candidate will be someone like Javid, Hunt or a wildcard entry like Johnny Mercer.

As a Labour member, of the realistic contenders I think Javid would probably be the toughest opponent in an election.
