Had a good time at Sunderland didn't he? He'll go there if anywhere.

a proper goal scorer despite his age.
Would be a decent option now we are playing 2 upfront.

Think it's unlikely. Not sure we'd have room FFP-wise for the sort of money he'd want. I know his name was mentioned in the summer but only very cursorily; someone suggesting him as a potential target rather than anything beyond that.

He would be on very high money at this level, we are already spending way higher than I personally like to see.

But spending it on a 40 year old striker who ultimately won't change the course of season, even for six months, would just be throwing money down the drain.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

He’d probably score more than Piggot, Chaplin and Jackson combined in this league even at 40. Sheringham was that age when he promoted West Ham at our expense, while our younger players got injured…

Sometimes a signing like that can make a big difference. Just look at what Wark did here in his 30’s!

We are too far away this year, signing him wouldn't change the course of our season.

Thankfully Phil has checked it out and it is a dead rubber.
