Can you imagine the look on some of their player's faces if Cook was announced.

It'll be Lambert.

Lives in Ipswich. Won't get a higher job anytime soon. Knows the squad.

Oh yeah I know. That would be funny itself.

But just adding I reckon it'll be Lambert.

Speaking with a couple of Col U fans yesterday...they'd be delighted with Cook.

So they should be if he rocks up. He’s a very good manager and will do well. If it’s Colchester, great for them. I wish him well.

But I’m glad he’s gone from my club. He was a poor fit and had to go.

Of course they would be. He’s still a good manager, just didn’t work out with us.
Plenty of L1 clubs would welcome him too.

Many Col U fans say they haven't had a decent manager since Lambert left.

I reckon it’d be perfect for Chambo/ Skuse to start out on their managerial careers .

I heard that comment last night too. I think there have been several managers at least as good as Lambert - Ward, Boothroyd, Keen - but the best ones have tended not to stay long.

Interesting to see who can be attracted now. Personally I’d hope for Neil Harris , even if only to save the club’s bacon in the short term.

Yes. I also hope Col U stay up.

It would be terrible for one of our ex-players to come to an end due to moving to Colchester.

They won't be getting anywhere near Harris or Cook.

Common sense says you’re right. But certainly Harris has been spotted watching Colchester recently, (could be in all sorts of capacities of course) and he is reputed to be a boyhood fan of the club. ( If true , he’s the only person in football who’s never worked for the club who I’ve ever heard was once a paying fan.)

It should be Lambert - he did well there previously and took most of their players to mid table in L1 last season!

I think it would be more surprising if it were Mick - we always said that he’s a good fit for a struggling club around this time of year, well, there it is…
