Impressive team performance in the second half 17:19 - Jan 22 with 930 views | Darth_Koont | We rode our luck in the first half as Accrington were definitely causing us more problems. But instead of 2-0 down we got it to 1-1 at halftime. But a good solid team performance after that to blunt Stanley and put the pressure on them. And we got the goal we deserved. Still a work in progress but when we’re good we’re very good, and when we’re not so good we at least stay in the game.

Impressive team performance in the second half on 17:45 - Jan 22 with 724 views | FightingEssex | Yeah we started poorly, Accrington were deserving of the lead and should have been 2 up not long after, but we improved during the half and second half we did just about enough to win. Not the best game or performance but we’d have drawn that under Cook.

I certainly think 3 CBs has given us the edge and that little bit of confidence when we’re under pressure. We were pretty ropey defensively first half but we still had bodies there which seemed to make the biggest difference from what went before.

Impressive team performance in the second half on 18:05 - Jan 22 with 547 views | JDB23 | Was a pretty crap game of football, first half our defence really struggled to win arial duels. Did have a feel of a Paul Cook game but we stuck in there and managed to get the 3 points which we rarely did under him. Still think we will struggle to do anything this season but we’re not completely out of it yet.

There were some excellent flashes but yes, a pretty attritional game. Accrington are a bit like Rotherham but all the power, nowhere near the quality. I thought that Morsy, Carroll, Celina and Chaplin were very sharp and they certainly outplayed the Stanley midfield over the game. Once they got on top, we looked fairly comfortable in open play.

Yes Morsy was very good good second half, involved in everything. Still feels like we’re very hesitant around the box, we absolutely refuse to put the ball in. Either Burns/Celina cut in and shoot or we go back central. Not sure if that is intentional but can be very frustrating at times. As you say, once we went ahead it was pretty comfortable. Always nervy at 2-1 and Walton had to make a couple of routine saves, although his save before our equaliser was a big reason we won that game. Let’s see if we can put a run together now.
