People in Tory party should listen to Conservative Muslims and support them.
Not look for an ulterior motive, as I see Fabricant is already doing. Listen and support a minority in a political party who are complaining about the discrimination and prejudice they are receiving. Not wheel out a pro Johnson Muslim and say there isn’t a problem.

The independent evidence of racism and its prevalence in UK politics is well documented. And has been even despite the last half-dozen years of overblown accusations and outright denials.
People have been disingenuous about that evidence for political purposes. And thrown a lot of people (minorities and genuine anti-racists) under the bus.

Islamophobia has become acceptable in the mainstream.
In fact it’s become somewhat of the establishment position. That’s why someone like Trevor Phillips can not just get away with saying things about Muslims that are incredibly racist but he’ll still be treated as a serious political pundit on TV and invited back into the Labour Party.
Of course, Islamophobia is even worse in the Tory party (just under a half of Conservative members think that Muslims are a threat to the UK) but we’ve all been waving this stuff through for years.
It’s really time to get serious about racism from an independent, evidence-based approach rather than the political football it’s become. | |

Dunno, GTSB and I had many ding dongs on here in the past but I’ve seen enough willingness to evolve views and change to lump him in with some other posters he may/may not know from past eras.
I just find centrist means nothing to anyone with some political/environmental/economical knowledge to weigh.
What is “moderate” these days? We burn the planet to death at a slower pace doing a “fairer” version of the disaster capitalist model? Do we tolerate lies and disinformation in the name of balance? And if one was to change to a centrist system nationally/globally what does one change? Who do they hold to account for how we got here and how? And what is “freedom” in that world?
In my view centrist views seem to largely be apathetic until any issue directly affects them.
