STILL no sign of a LB (or another CB, although less important).

Are we really going to go rest of season with Penney/KVY?!

I hope not.

RIP Sir Bobby

"Edging" is not is a well-known rehab technique as far as I'm aware.....

Its been 3 months since he limped off at Wycombe, after playing on for a bit with his injury.

He is certainly edging very, very slowly towards fitness!

Coulson can't be far away.

I think we must have agreed to sign him otherwise we'd have sent him back to Boro.

Penney has the best "personal goal difference" (team goals scored vs team goals conceded during a player's time on the pitch) in the squad. That doesn't prove anything definitively, of course, but it suggests the team is generally pretty effective when Penney is involved. I'd be comfortable sticking with him.

He's back in training, according to Kieran McKenna on Tuesday evening.

You’re not reading the room.

It’s cool to dislike Penney.

What’s wrong with Penney? I’d love to see the stats for goals against and for whilst he’s on the pitch. I may be wrong, but I bet they’re not that bad.

They are probably not- it is just him that is bad.

Hopefully looked a class act to me, would be great to have home and Burns left and right.

I've seen all his games this season and it's not really down to stats it's just that he hasn't shown at any time he is adequate in attack or defence for a team chasing promotion.

Having said that, he's an ok back up and Cook was completely wrong playing Clements for three consecutive matches when Penney was available, completely unfair and unnecessary for both players.

Glad someone else thinks this re Clements/Penney

The more you look back at Cook's tenure and the decisions he made the odder and odder it gets - he really did a very poor job here.

Bringing in Clements for a game or giving him some minutes i had no problem with, but to play a kid who'd never played in the league before for 3 games in the space of a week was just madness - (and think he ended up playing 5 games in 2 weeks). The kid is never going to say it as he wants to take every opportunity he can but i bet his muscles were screaming. His performances deteriorated probably because he was knackered.

Penney is perfectly adequate and i think he's been ok, certainly as a back up. I don't get why he get's bashed as much as he does.

Poll: Is it now time to sack Paul Cook?

People are obsessed with stats!!

I just don't think he is very good at football.

Walton making some great saves, or a superb last ditch tackle by Donacien to keep a clean sheet does not make him a good player.
