Last 3 games. Average 65% of the ball. 6 shots on target in 3 games 21:17 - Jan 29 with 1234 views3_5_2

Last 3rd is the area to sort now

Do that and we will be ok.

We have to be more creative up top

Can’t say if it will be this season or not but hopefully that will come

Worrying is we've spent £££. Got rid of 2 managers and we are back to 2020 stats and performances and already blaming pitches for our lack of ability to pass a football and be a threat to our opponent.

Indeed. As said earlier it's very to Lamberts era well pre Xmas town at least. Win games without looking great.

Absolutely fine no problems with that. But long term we will need better if we are going to get out of this league.

It's a level above PCs time here already. But now to get better than Lamberts and to do that we can't follow suit with this high % football with little attacking threats.

It’s in the middle too where we need to be more creative.

Central midfield was always going to be an issue in linking back to front and being confident on the ball. Firstly we were a man down on them, as we played with two number tens, and secondly we had two young players there instead of the experience Bannan and Luongo provide. It was a mismatch.

We had no choice on the latter and the early goal probably meant McKenna felt he needed the number tens on the pitch to try and score the equalise. But we were allowed to have the ball in unthreatening areas because we were so lightweight; having at least one of Morsy, Evans or Carroll may have made a bit of a difference.

We're rubbish up top, have been years, hope he finds the awnser,
I think we really need to get out this year,
Looking at this year all the top ten are investing more heavily
That trend will continue,
And potentially Derby reading coming down more big names,
Anyone who gets out this year will save themselves potentially years in league one,
I never thought we'd be here this long,

I don't think it's just creativity that we lack in the middle, we also lack midfielders who can score. Morsy has been very good in recent games at getting forward but when he gets anywhere near the goal, he doesn't know what to do. The contrast with the 1981 team couldn't be greater with Wark, Thyssen and Muhren all chipping in with goals. I realise you can't compare us with that team but a team which lacks midfielders who score is always going to struggle.

Would it? It didn't against Bolton and it didn't really against Wimbledon either.

Lots of passing between CB's with no penetration.

Very reminiscent of Lambert Ball. Winning against lesser opposition because we have more quality in certain situations.

The problem yesterday seemed that we couldn't get the ball through that final third and into a position where anybody could shoot without a Wednrsday player (or two) in their faces. The strikers weren't the issue, it was penetrating a very well organised and strong defence, without even the space behind to go over the top (both sides were running the offside trap effectively).

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

On the rare occasions we get a cross in, we rarely have anyone apart from Bonne in the box. The goal yesterday was scored by a player running into the box from deep, but we never do that. It's as if there is a rule that only strikers are allowed in the box.

We have for three years been able to beat most of the rubbish in the league and still not delivered over a season. We have been unfortunate in that we’ve recruited the wrong personalities and people willing to do the bare minimum but aren’t winners or interested in the long term here, just the relatively good living for stress free League One football. We need to learn from the teams that can actually get out of this league like Rotherham and Wycombe and stop trying to tip tap it around into the mid table, we need to recruit better and get real. This sexy football in league one nonsense will keep us here for a decade. We need battlers and we need fighters. We’re bang average in this league and have wasted a comparative fortune doing it.
