No excuses for a poor show. 06:19 - Jan 30 with 877 viewseddiespearitt03

Surely we can produce more goal threat than what was shown @ Sheff Wed. The supporters are turning up in good numbers so deserve better.

It's fair to say that missing our two first choice CM's is a big mitigating factor.

4 wins in 6, let's not get too negative.

Until that's addressed we will always be a league one side no matter how much investment,

Agreed. This is demonstrated by the fact we're 19th in the Expected Goals table. The fact that we score some spectacular goals doesn't hide the fact that we just do don't create enough chances. And the fact that we may have better players than last season hasn't really improved things, given that very few of our players are natural goal scorers if you look at their stats.

Thanks, I agree it's the natural goal scorer where a lot of the problem is, if we had a Marcus Stewart billy sharp type, we'd be top two, everything else is competitive and generally ok,

Of course there's excuses for a poor show. Big game, huge away following, media hyped the 2 scrappy wins against crap opposition, had chance to make big inroads towards the play-off zone. Clue: it's IPSWICH. That my friend is not rocket science.

Bolton away , Wimbledon first half , yesterday , all 3 were very similar lots of possession no threat at all.

Opposition managers work that out , let you have the ball where there is no danger and get organised .

The goals we have scored recently have been fast moving goals ,( from back to front) with quality , and have involved Burns a lot …

There is often chance of a forward pass but we aren’t confident enough to take it. So it goes backwards , sometimes a long way back….

If we are 1 up and play that way I get it, but at 1 down , you have to take the opportunity to create a big chance not just keep possession.

If the opposition shut Burns down and are organised , then we end up with performances like these. Loads of pass pass pass then nothing.

Morsy running with the ball gets us up the pitch , he is tough to stop, El Miz did one yesterday but had 2/3 players on him straight away that he had to turn and beat. A lot of the time even if the player running fwd gets a few yards up tho, he then stands on the ball, turns back …

We have also started to make major defensive errors again too, at Bolton , and yesterday.

Set pieces very poor , no threat from corners.

Lots to work on.

Have to agree on all that,
My fear is we won't make it this year,
Next year will be even harder, could have reading and Derby joining us,
The level of investment in league one now is detrimental to our new investment,
Will be even harder to get promoted next year,
ATM we've certainly blown this year.
As for other managers working town out it's not hard, stop burns you stop Ipswich, when he was injured we we're pathetic up top,
