He also seems to have lied to Tory MPs last night (as has Rabb this morning) when he said that Crosby was coming onboard to sort out things at number 10. This seemed to be something that calmed the angry backbenchers but Crosby has now said he won't be taking a formal role in number 10, that he is working in Australia for at least weeks and that he would give advice if asked but not in a formal role.
It's just lie after lie from Boris with no repercussions.

This seemed to be something that calmed the angry backbenchers but Crosby has now said he won't be taking a formal role in number 10, that he is working in Australia for at least weeks and that he would give advice if asked but not in a formal role.

They've run out of coalition partners too - unless they win a majority they will not govern the country. The Lib Dems and the DUP have been burned, neither could ever go back.
And when you look at it like that
Lib Dem + Labour + Green = 56%
Conservative - 33%
The SNP aren't going to get away with putting the Conservatives in charge as the largest party so would have to cede as well and wouldn't have much bargaining power to get their referendum | |

Figures that, were it to be a GE, would see the Tories lose 139 seats and Labour elected with an overall majority - with the thought that an unpopular government would also see tactical voting. So it is likely that the Tory loss would be higher.
However, despite it being a Thursday, there is not a GE tomorrow, and much can change before the next election. Labour turning 32% into 44% evidences that. Over 3 months of slow but steady growth shows that it is not a blip either.
It is how voters see the parties at this moment. Something that will worry Tory councillors, even more than Tory MPS. If the garrulous gutbucket continues to try to cling on, then the thought that he is 'corroding the Conservative Party like battery acid' will grow.
Yesterday was a statement to the House, followed by questions. Bunter upset himself yet again, and turned in into TBB, yet again. Tears Before Bedtime as his tantrum followed the usual pattern of shouting and ranting claims that were easily proved to be false.
Whether he knew no longer seems to matter. The default position is that he will lie, and lie again. U-turns will be performed (vax for NHS staff), promises will be broken, and the sorry sage will continue.....for how long ?
Tory MPs need to grow a backbone, The damage has been done. A police investigation of number 10. Ministers have resigned for far less, never mind a PM.
I once saw a chap clinging to a post in Wetherspoons, and wondered if he thought the security, and bar, staff were going to let him stay..... as he had put up such a spirited defence to stay.
