A former Town player here 17:29 - Feb 20 with 2374 views | Plums | Clearly doing good work in bringing through the next generation of coaches. Any memories of Nigel playing for us?

A former Town player here on 17:41 - Feb 20 with 2214 views | Churchman | I’d forgotten all about him. He played during the mid 80s Gleghorn was basically a midfielder that got the odd goal if I remember rightly. Plenty of skill but not much pace, picked up the odd injury here and there. Decent player. I’m glad he’s had a good career as a player and beyond.

A former Town player here on 17:44 - Feb 20 with 2181 views | gtsb1966 | If I remember correctly his goals per ratio of games was very good for a midfielder.
A former Town player here on 17:44 - Feb 20 with 2187 views | le2blue | Signed from Seaham RedStar and was formerly a fireman. Him, Brennan, Dozzell, in midfield, mid to late 80’s, football casuals. Post relegation, we thought it was a one year 2nd division tour, it wasn’t!

Over 500 appearances, not bad for someone who didn't start their professional career until 23.

A former Town player here on 18:25 - Feb 20 with 1968 views | gainsboroughblue | Really good player. Mostly out wide on the left. As already mentioned, he wasnt exactly blistering pace but had a good delivery, chipped in with goals qnd wasn't actually that bad in the air. Made a step up from non-league (which was a couple of levels below Conference I think) to the top division really quite comfortably.

A former Town player here on 09:59 - Feb 21 with 1246 views | bracknell_blue | I remember him from the 80s. Went to Man City later - a City supporting mate dragged me to a Div2 game at Walsall once. Nigel started left midfield but played the last hour in goal, and was pretty decent.

I always remember him being a very left sided midfield player as we had the likes of Brennan, Dozzell etc in the middle.

Yeah, I remember that. He also had a spell in goal at Stoke too.

Yes, every match report that mentioned him referred to him as "former Fireman Nigel Gleghorn"
