Another charming message of solidarity sent to those 09:11 - Mar 3 with 6988 views | giant_stow | On zero hour / gig contracts suffering from rising prices, sent from the tube drivers today. To go with their gratefully received message on Tues. And not forgetting their continuing weekend show of support - they're really on the side of the less well off and never miss a chance to show that. Thanks brothers. [Post edited 3 Mar 2022 9:16]

You are not too bright are you ? Income tax is a charge on the employers profits, not on workers pay - ask an accountant, they will help. In that light it means the higher the tax rate, the more companies are contributing to the benefit of the country as a whole. After a decade of cuts, we can see what that has brought. A low skilled workforce unable to fill the job vacancies left by 'cancelling' EU workers. A rail network paying higher subsidies to EU companies - that are state owned.

Technically it’s a tax on revenue, as you still have to pay it regardless of whether you make a profit or not. Agree the privatisation of rail, and nationalisation of any losses is an absolute joke.

Never told the dole and managed to sign on for a few months before they found out and stopped it. Then worked nights in a pig head de-boning factory til course was over. Then got into uni the next year. I'm not saying its easy, quite the opposite. I'd never really met anyone who had been to uni prior to this. Most of my mates never escaped and many would be in a situation where they quite rightly feel they have no access to a university education. I'm just saying it is possible |
That's excellent, you were obviously very determined. But like I say, this was the 90's, not sure it's the same now. Happy to be proven wrong but I've not heard of anyone in recent times getting into university with no qualifications. People whose grades aren't good enough have to do a Foundation course - people with NO grades, well that's just unheard of. Also, did you not have to pay for your 1 year access to higher education course? There are lots of people living in poverty who could barely afford the transport to uni costs, let alone a course on top. Chickers attested that EVERYONE has access to higher education - and he presumably meant now.
| Trust the process. Trust Phil. |

Access to higher education was free and gave me the qualifications needed to get into a university. I'm sure it is even harder to do now. Just wouldn't want anybody else from that kinda background to think it is impossible. I suggest lie, cheat, steal, sell weed, do what ever you need to do to get yerself outta that situation if that's what you want

Afternoon Harold. Someone else has already explained why you’re wrong.
