Leg Room? 11:22 - Mar 4 with 1024 viewsFrating

Hello, thinking of taking in a few games and haven't been to Portman Road for a few years. I'm 6ft 4 and was wondering the best place for leg room.

I have just retired and a Season Ticket holder at Orient but have time to watch other games. Apart from in the away end, I've sat in the Main Stand, looks like O or P area, which didn't give much leg room I seem to remember. As the Alf Ramsey and Bobby Robson ones are more recent, would they be best?

Thanks

....Conor Chaplin would struggle for leg room in there.

The West Stand is marginally better, but as you are a bit lanky would probably still be an issue.

The North and Churchmans are fine, without being generous, but if you really need some room then you should look at Area X in Churchmans, extra leg room, great view and a padded seat.....albeit it an extra cost.

I'd add to that D in Cobbold has about 6 inches more legroom than 'normal' seats.

And as Bloots says, X is probably the most spacious seats in the whole stadium.

As a similarly tall ST holder who sits in the Upper Cobbold - I'd probably avoid that stand if leg room is important as it's not great and if the people either side of you are rotund and/or the person in front decides to use their seat like a deck chair then you'll find yourself uncomfortable (I trade that in for the view).

Any of the more expensive 'posh' seats around the ground guarantee it but are pricey so the Sir Alf or Sir Bobby stands are probably your best bet.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.
