I do bake my own occasionally, though to be honest it's generally disappointing. I've never had the time or inclinitation to get into making my own sourdough culture, though maybe one day?
I'm a bit of a phillistine, love a Warburton's Toastie, generally buy seed sensations trying to kid myself I'm living the healthy lifestyle and love Gael's Potatoe and rosemary bread for a treat, awsome with beans on toast.
No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.
Spent a few weeks based in a hotel near Manchester Airport back in 1999, they named their own bread on site.... Did a wonderful loaf with walnuts and another with onions.

That's cute. What kind of names did they give them?
I also have to say that Aldi's sliced seeded loaf is superb.
I'm also quite partial to a normal sliced white if it's mega fresh - especially with bacon. For this prison grade variety once again, Aldi's is top of the pops.

Any sourdough from Pump St Bakery in Orford. Well worth the half-hour drive.
Stayed in an AirBNB just down from there a couple of times, it is very nice bread I must admit. The eccles were good too, a bit underwhelemd by the chocolate though, although I'm not a massive chocolate fan.

Tiger Loaf - Lidl. Trust me it's unrivalled. Single cheese stick rolls - Sainsburys. Proper crispy. Single olive rolls - Sainsburys. Bit of bread and cheese or ham and you're laughing.

Lidl's bakery is great isn't it.
Hooever - if you are located in Ipswich there is one bakery that kills all the others hands down.
Krusty's on Dales Rd. Their crusty rolls are addictive and they generally have stock.
Most places look at you as if you are a mad man if you try and buy a bread roll after midday

I'm half Irish, so Soda Bread is the only correct answer. With butter. Proper Butter mind, none of this Clover sh^t
Same here, though my granny used to make a wheaten farl which, with proper butter and her home made rhubarb jam washed down with a glass of buttermilk is the taste of my childhood.
There is so much wrong with you people. The answer is…….. Mothers Pride
The perfect loaf to make sandwiches that fit the lunchbox and leave room for the packet of Golden Wonder (salt & vinegar), the apple (chucked away) and the KitKat. The processed cheese slices fitted it perfectly, it fitted the toaster or the grill for the cheese toastie, tomatoes or mushrooms or sardines. Perfect for soldiers for the morning boiled egg and lasted forever. What more do you need?
All this granary with walnuts, birdseed and roadgrit poverty stuff that exists to give the dentist an upgrade? Give your heads a wobble and head back to the true light and pathway of Mothers Pride - and it’s copyists.
