I can remember having the same luck with hamsters as a kid, they never lasted more than about 7-8 months.
Thankfully our cat lived to be 22, and our current dog is going well.

When I was a kid I had a couple and my dog ate them.
My old next door neighbour had a shed full of them in cages and they were always pegging out. I don't think they are a great pet to be honest and I'm pretty anti on caged animals I must say.
My top tip is to get a dog.

The sex toy to cheer you up or as a replacement pet. Don’t combine or confuse the two though.
Our 10 month old cat came home Wednesday with an eye and nose full of blood and cost me £100 in an emergency vet trip. He’d bashed his head somehow and caught his eye. Fine now as well after some rest and eye drops. Utter pr1ck. This happened in the middle of the worst and most stressful day I’ve had of 2022 so far as well.
