What are people up to?

After the last couple of years of not doing much or staying local(ish), we’re taking the plunge and planning a week in the Picos de Europa in northern Spain and then a week with the Mrs’ sister and family at a villa in the French Pyrenees. I’m not sure how that’s all going to work out with Covid, but we’re driving down to avoid public transport and people. Can’t wait tbh, it’s been too long.

Otherwise it’s North Wales for Easter and half term as we’ve still got to clear out my dad’s place. Not a pleasant job but got to be done, so we’re going to use it as a base while we’ve got it. The one benefit of Covid is it’s reminded us that you don’t have to travel far. We had a cracking holiday in N Wales last summer.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

I loved Sorrento and Capri. Bloody expensive though.

Me too.

Ischia is the better island though.

Hope it's not Pontins?

As for yours truly, just finally got away after two years and did a couple of weeks in Portugal - one in Lisbon, one in Porto.

Next stop hopefully somewhere in Italy but as yet not decided and then was hoping to get to Georgia too. Although nothing nailed down as yet for either :)

Gorgeous.

Was my uncle's old company! Tbf they seem to do the whole thing a lot better than a lot of competitors at a fair price. Some very nice sites around the country.

Or experience zero culture and be surrounded by brainless Instagram people and self-important management types while shopping in an underground mall? Sounds ideal.

Have you been to Mauritius before. Mrs B and T and I are keen on somewhere tropical next year and that and option.

I fancy Maldives but MBT is into the idea of Mauritius or Costa Rica so if anyone's been to any of thise I'd welcome thoughts

How was Barbados? I've just come back from Malta and wished I had gone to the Caribbean...or Southern Africa...or South America...or even Australia now it is open again.

Week in a cabin in northern Wisconsin. A week of fishing, little bit of golf. And a lot of drinking around the campfire at night, gazing at the stars.

The only time I went to Malta I was there for a conference with the company I worked for.

I was so bored that I got drunk enough to piss myself. True story.

When are you in the Cotswolds? So I can be out ;)

We're headed to Florida, I've got 5 days worth of work out there and then 2 weeks of holiday.

Costa Rica yes please, Langkawi & Penang for a two centre……….Pangkor Laut awesome. A day or two in KL on the way in or out, a whole lot of bang for your buck in Malaysia.

I find that very, very plausible.

Barbados was nice. It’s always usually between 24 & 29 celcius all year round so the weather guaranteed. They are a little bit hot on the covid entry requirements as well as being a little over the top with Hand Sanitising and mask wearing. Can’t wear a mask with a valve and your own sanitiser doesn’t count. Let each shop you go into sanitise you. Even when you go in to shopping Malls. Sanitise to enter the mall and then sanitise to go into each shop and if you don’t buy anything, you sanitise to go into another shop… gets a bit much after a while - but weather is quality.

As the only other TWTD correspondent (that I know of anyway) who's also taken a crap out of a window, that means a lot.

But, honestly, there's not much appeal to Malta really. Maybe if you've lost the will to live, but not quite there yet...
