We are, as a team, right in the middle of the fair play table also. Not sinners or saints.
On yellows alone, he's around 15th (which is still below projection - the worst offender for the 12th dirtiest team would likely be around 12th) but that's if you don't count reds as part of the overall discipline.

I agree with you that Morsy is not being very smart here and teams know this and deliberately try to wind him up. He does not need to get involved in stupid retaliation or foul play and still maintain his aggression. The video is a perfect example of what he does wrong. The minute the other player went in with his head, Morsy should have dropped like a stone. This is the smart way to draw a foul and not be yellow carded. There is obviously zero chance of getting a yellow for simulation in League One.
Bit more cuteness from Morsy ( and all the squad ) is necessary, as my father always said "you play the referee". |
Even less smart when you’ve already had a retrospective ban in a similar situation where his actions have allowed a player to con the ref. I don’t mind him getting yellows for mistimed tackles but he should be better than resorting to acts of petulance | |

He's doing so badly that Wigan are rumored to be interested in having him back should they get promoted, as well as a slew of other Championship teams already. His discipline is terrible, but he's one of about 4 players to leave this season with any credibility here. |

See nthsuffolkblue's post above. You had it explained to you but are still going with this just because you think one incident vindicates your view. It doesn't. Morsy's never been sent off for us and was only suspended thanks to retrospective action based on unclear video evidence.

Morsy’s discipline record doesn’t stick out in the division and certainly not for a central midfield scrapper. On top of which, his record is not much worse than Edmundson and Burns (!!).
Sure, we miss his dynamism and aggression when he’s not playing but that’s the Catch 22.
As for Tuesday night, yes he shouldn’t have leaned into him with his forehead and given the ref a decision to make. But Bennett’s performance either side of that incident was something else. I think even his teammates must have had a word that it was getting far too obvious. |  |

Fair enough. I was looking at League games and it seems as if Morsy was booked in every single cup game he played this season (5).
I suppose the simple answer is: don’t play him in the Cup games. Which barring an FA Cup third round tie we probably shouldn’t anyway. | |
