Nottingham Forest 3-0 Ipswich at the end of 16/17. We picked our supposed best side as Forest were battling against relegation and were embarrassed on TV.
Actually, that was a fun match. It was warm and sunny and there wasn’t much to play for, although we’d recovered well after a really bad start to the season. We sang lots of old songs. I think Kelvin Davis was playing for Wimbledon and knew he was going to sign for us.

Yes, that Wimbledon game was pretty horrible. One of the worst moods I had after the game. Can remember seeing fans fighting amongst themselves in the North Stand towards the end of the game.
Liverpool 5 Ipswich 0 11 May 2002. I watched it at a hotel in Cardiff with twenty or so Norwich fans. Somewhat consoled later that day watching them lose the play off final to Brum.

Presumably most have forgotten the 3- 0 debacle at home to Sheff Utd during the keane era.
To be honest, all of the debacles in Roy Keane through to Paul Lambert tend to meld together in a gelatinous ball of shyte. The 3-0 tonking by Forest 16/17 has to be the one that stands out for me.

A completely bizarre game, which looked like a training match at times. Town were already guaranteed to finish 6th & Derby were also guaranteed a UEFA Cup spot. The defence looked like they were out for a Saturday afternoon stroll. It was Francis Lee's last game as he had announced his retirement & we seemed keen to let him get a goal near the end. It was also the last game for referee Peter Walters.

That game came to my mind when I saw the thread a day or two ago. It was the sort of game that you used to get in Testimonial games and we did seem to treat it as a testimonial to Franny Lee.

Yes. That was a doozy. (1-5) Despite all the crud we've endured over the last 20 years, that's the only game I've left early. Seeing the 4th goal go in I thought if they can't be bothered, nor can. My usual masochist approach was to the fore during the 2-0 loss to Portsmouth during the December lock down game. Perhaps the nadir of my relationship with Lambert.

0-0 draw with Millwall. We could have got into the play-offs. , and they could have saved themselves from relegation. Their fans went on a rampage. My mother was in her late 70s and had been a season ticket holder for years. She never went to another game after that.

I had to travel from London with their fans that day. Not a pleasant journey. I had arrived at Liverpool St early to avoid that very situation but the police had clearly held the trains to avoid trouble in Ipswich. My train arrived 15 mins before kick off.

That wasn't so bad, really. We knew we were already down barring miracles and we had fun in the away end - "Are you watching, Grimsby Town?", "We're going to Grimsby, we're going to Grimsby, you're not."
Ironically, the shenanigans around going or not going to Grimsby the next season were arguably what ultimately did for Burley.
My vote would be for the 0-3 v Sheffield United, with Tom Eastman sent off.
