Can we now all agree 18:18 - Apr 18 with 9409 viewspennblue

That sacking Paul cook has NOT worked out and in future we should give our managers a minimum of 2 transfer windows unless we are clearly bottom three

I am quite sure he would have got us top six as his style of play, when executed consistently would result in top two form

Cook replaced virtually the entire squad in one transfer window....

Bit too obvious fella, you won't get many bites going in this hard.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

No. He defo needed to go.

I would again tho like to remind those who wanted him out and didnt like people who wanted him to succeed, that they are doing the same with KM as PC fans were.

Its not all rosey. Results have regressed, goal scoring is poor and our set pieces are still awful. We all however will hope this is something KM can sort out in the summer.

Shush.

We're at a point where both manager have had 20 league games in charge.

Cook has 27 points and McKenna 36.

Edit: this is a response to the OP rather than TresBonne.

you can’t compare apples with pears. The squad was still being assembled right up until the start of October.

Ah yes, the first half of the season was so much better than the second.

FFS, really.

I am not saying the first half of the season was better, but what McKenna now knows about this squad of players, Paul Cook already knew in December.

The bloke managed to make a Lambert team somehow worse, FFS.

The main reason is he should have gone around September, Cook was a disaster and like Hurst and the dark lord should never have got anywhere near this club.

Fair play to Paul Cook, he had a massive handicap what with taking over a Chesterfield team fighting for the title, but he's currently well and truly in with a chance to out-sh*te Paul Hurst.

What did you see from Cook that warranted him being given more time?

The timing of this post is ironic given Cook is currently taking Chesterfield down the National League

He's got a worse win ratio than Lambert. I'd say that's pretty discrediting for anyone.

Cook was already talking about shipping players out and getting more in, Cook also ‘knew’ that Woolfenden couldn’t play here and was going to bin LW off. Just for that alone it’s great he has gone as would have cost us millions of pounds in transfer fees and we’d have had Chey Dunkley at the back

Poor old Cookie. Sacked just as the team was on the point of gelling.

But when he was sacked we were 9 points off play offs,
We are now 12 points off playoffs. Scoring 12 less goals

I don't think that's on KM personally. But it shows this seasons finish isnt just about Paul's time here.

McKenna, shipped out Nsiala immediately and rehabilitated Wolfenden so that made an instant improvement.
