KM and Ashton have both said they didn't really have 2 lists it was just one.
That maybe the case but how many of those targets would fancy league 1 rather than champ.. that's the important bit of course.

Personally I’d feel a bit more positive if anyone at the franchise has come to terms with the fact Town are a mid-table team in the third division - and something more than hot air and delusion is needed to arrest the decline. That might actually mean a core of good third division players is required | |

From memory they both mentioned that the club would try to recruit young players who have the potential to grow with the club and play at a higher level with the PL being the main ambition. Not sure we’ll be targeting PL or even higher Championship ready youngsters but ones with the potential to do that.
They also stressed the need for experience in a team - so possibly players in their late twenties who may well have been overlooked or never quite made it. |  | | |

KM has also thrown into the mix that we lack abit of experience in the side. Whilst I quite like the club not having leaks, it also made the summer frustrating with lack of TWTD Understands etc lol | |

The aim was to sign Championship standard players. That came off in a number of cases, Walton, Chaplin, Celina, Aluko, Edmundson among them, but I'm not sure they found it as easy as they hoped to get players from the Championship to drop down. | | | |

Doesn't really work like that. You need the whole team functioning, individual players cannot carry a team. They aren't going to put 4 Ipswich players in team of season when were 11th. | | | |
