Just like the MPs caught watching porn were checking out some CVs I suppose.

So we are expected to believe the Prime Minster, who is VERY busy as he keeps telling us, took time out of his day to interview one of Carrie's friends for a domestic job in the flat?

Really?!

Appointing a new in-house dominatrix cab be a very serious issue and this could have kept Boris tied up for ages

He'll be bjorn again

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Best he can do really.

We know there was a party. We know he was there.

We also know that they denied there were parties but Mrs Boris was at the very least having one and they both lied.

The only thing he can do now is claim there was some work angle. I'm sure it's perfectly normal to conduct a job interview at night, in a flat, where music was so loud it could be heard from St James Park.

But unless he tries to make it vaguely work related, he has to concede that he's broken the rules again. Will be interesting to see if he apologies for lying given they flatly refused it.

Spoiler. He won't.

If only, I don't know, he had an office close by to where he lives where he could do a work interview?

But was he conducting the interview or the one being interviewed?

He might be wanting to join some tribute band for a change of scene.

When questioned on this, I think that's the route I would probably go down.

He was conducting the interview apparently.

So, he asked someone to come to his family home (against the law) for an interview which just happened to be at the same time as a party.

When he could have done the interview in a legal location literally a few steps away...

Even if that's true, does he not have some responsibility to maybe ask his wife not to break the law that he just made as he's meant to be leading a country through a pandemic and it's probably not a good look if he can't even demonstrate a modicum of control in his own household?

I think we are well past all that.

The disgrace should have been observing the same rules as everyone else. Hell, he should be leading the bloody way as the person who set the rules.

But it's long since established that we had to follow the rules and they didn't.

It's the same reason a teenager having a party was fined £10,000 and kicked out of university with his life likely ruined, despite being a kid and making a stupid mistake, whilst the person making the rules, supposedly intelligent enough to be responsible enough for the whole country, can break the rules, deny breaking them, eventually admit he did break them but didn't understand the rules he'd set and pay £50 before telling us all to move on.

I think these ridiculous excuses (e.g. Barnard Castle as well) are meant as a loyalty test. Everybody knows it's a lie and its a completely ridiculous excuse, but if you're a Tory MP or journalist prepared to go on TV and debase yourself by repeating/defending something so obviously false and ridiculous then it shows loyalty to the Dear Leader, and will be good for your immediate career prospects.
