Just checked and 80 is the highest amount of points a team has failed to make the play-offs with in the Football League since we pipped Wolves on goal difference with 78 in 2014/15.

And the last team to fail with 80 points was Tranmere in 2003 in Division Two now League One was Division Three. Wigan went up with 100.
