Overseas signings 09:40 - May 2 with 1920 viewsEssexBloo

I’ve seen a lot of people say it’s not so easy to sign foreign players since brexit. What is the criteria now for being allowed to buy overseas players. Is it possible for us to get someone like Petta or Reuser?

Someone on here voted Brexit because he wanted more foreign faces so must be easier by that logic

The Eredivisie is in Band 2 for Visa requirements (rated slightly lower than the big 5 leagues), so we can sign any players in that division who've played in 40% of their club's fixtures over the last 12 months. I think Petta and Reuser would both have met the criteria, playing for RKC Waalwijk and Vitesse Arnhem on loan prior to signing for us.

So according to the calculations Celina is ineligible.

Doubt it. He played over here for a while before going over to France.

This will probably be the way we bring some players in from abroad. Those who played here before going abroad.

Also would assume he has a British passport.

Ineligible according to the calculator he has on the Twitter thread but like you say he’s been in the country for a long time so that’s probably the point of difference.

He'd been eligible for UK residency/citizenship anyway, I think?
