Whilst true, it's Not hard to achieve after the first 6 weeks of the season without Walton, Morsy etc and having a settled squad at your disposal compared to the previous manager.

I wouldn't blame if he did. Watford have a good chance of going straight back up to the Prem, I guess it would come down to where he sees the ambition of each club. Hopefully the larger fan base of Town will help.
I did something similar once, started a job with a company and after only 6 months I got on offer from another company and moved there. |  | | |

The thing is if he won one game in eight at Watford he’d be sacked. Would he here, post summer? Certainly he’s been given time (rightly) up to now whilst Watford are hardly known for their patience. A massive risk for massive reward move for him should he be offered and take it. |  |

With how betting markets work I wonder how he is so high. Usually you get the former player or out of work big name manager. I doubt Watford fans follow or care about Ipswich Town enough to see how well McKenna has done in League 1 to then chuck a load of money at it. |  |

I think he will be linked to clubs throughout the summer - he's a highly thought of coach, regarded as one of the best young coaches in the country.
However, I think the Watford one would be something that wouldn't appeal to him as much given the hire and fire nature of the club - and McKenna seems very much to be one who likes to see a long term project of a club.
He's only completed 6 months as a manager, and is under contract until 2025, so think we are in a strong position here. [Post edited 3 May 2022 9:12]

Even if McKenna had got us to 75 points from where we were (which is usually enough to get into the play offs), this season 6th place was achieved with 83 points, so even then we'd still be further from the play offs than when McKenna took over.... [Post edited 3 May 2022 9:39]

Zero chance of him leaving this summer.
He has freedom and backing here to build as he wants. Owners and fans fully behind him and he has said previously he waited for the right opportunity before making the leap into management.
Those views will not have changed in half a season. He has not even begun what he came here to do yet.
He seems a man with integrity and until I hear different then I have full confidence he will be here for the forseeable. |  | | |

Can’t see it, would reflect badly on McKenna if he jumped ship after just a few months in his first job, seems a very switched on chap and if he went now it would burn a lot of bridges which would make things diffif it went wrong, which is a high chance considering he is still learning and things though went well here were certainly not perfect.
I would be very very surprised if this happened,he has built a team here and is still a work in progress, can’t see Watford could make this happen and to be honest the MK dons manager is getting stellar results, they should look there 😬 |  |

Got us playing well, didn't get us the results we needed.
Hamstrung by woeful striker performances.
A pre season with some decent strikers, a few tweaks of personnel and all signs point to 'potential' positive progression.
I think he'd be silly to go to Watford - they sack all their managers - rather than staying with us for a season with some backing from above. |  | | |

15 points dropped there and all due to not taking chances and killing games off when on top. Although Cambridge did a job on us that's a game we would expect to win 9 times out of 10.

After we drew against Sunderland (McGreal’s last match in charge) we were ten points off the play offs. Had we made it to 75 points we would have been eight points off the play offs, so closer. | |
