Get Well Thorpey 15:55 - May 10 with 946 views | BlueandTruesince82 | My favourite cricketer of all time. I grew up watching him and Nasser keeping England in matches when we were pretty dire. Much like Root now I guess. Thorpe was classy, stylish a selectors dream in terms of technique. Hope he's OK https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/61394116

Thorpey and The Judge were my favourite batsmen of that time, style and grit sums them up perfectly. Exactly the type of player we are sorely missing right now.

He was lovely on the eye, as lefties seem to be. But in my memory he never quite reached the highs he could/should have done. Stats say he had a good average, but in my m8nd he failed to regularly to convert solid starts into really big scores. Only 16 centuries stands out. But this isn’t really the time for that debate - what matters now is that he pulls through and gets better, for his sake and his family. Get well soon Thorpie.
