League One play off final. 14:43 - May 11 with 3433 viewsPinewoodblue

Apparently Newcastle Utd fans are planning a day out to support Wycombe.

A Newcastle acquaintance has booked tickets for a group of them, staying over in Wycombe two nights and going on train with Wycombe fans.

Another friend, supports Sunderland, is saying any trouble will by of Wycombe’s making as they will sell tickets to anyone.

Could be interesting.

That is beyond sad and weird.

To travel across the country just to cheer on your rivals opponents - and potentially witness their greatest day in years - is incredible sad.

Weird bunch those Geordies. Some fit lasses though.

it totalled £55

easily pleased

There were a couple of Sunderland lads who had a bet with a mate of mine that we wouldn't get into Europe after we got promoted under Burley.

They said that they would go to every Ipswich European away game if we did...........

And they honoured their bet and went to every away game wearing their Sunderland shirts****

***Not sure about Moscow as I didn't go to that but pretty certain they went.

I don't recall seeing any Sunderland shirts at any of those away matches and there were only a few hundred Town fans in Serbia.

It’s a bit odd to say the least.

When Chelsea played up there this season, the Geordies were mocking Chelsea for being owned by someone with blood on their hands. On that day, their self-awareness was definitely given the day off.

Serbia was the following season, after we’d qualified by winning the fair play league in the relegation year. The European tour in 01/02 was Helsingborg, Torpedo Moscow and Inter.

Good point, I didn't read your post properly.

Didn't see them at the 1st 3 matches either, but

1) Moscow......with only around 1,000 fans there, would have thought I'd have seen them

2) Helsingborg we decided to sit along the side with the Swedish fans ( a couple of whom were gorgeous).

3) Inter was rammed, so could easily have missed them.

I think at best a few southern based mags fancy a day out at Wembley sitting in the vast amount of empty Wycombe seats.

I very much doubt many from the heartland will be bothering themselves with watching L1 football.

I remember a Sunderland fella who used to post on here.

Cant remember his username. He seemed a decent fella.

They went to Helsinberg and Milan for sure and almost definitely Liberic.

I think they went to all of them.

This isn’t anything new unfortunately. As strange as it seems, they’ve been coming into the away end in league one regularly, especially when the away team has a low following. There is always trouble afterwards sadly as well.

It’s strange when you prefer to watch your rivals (hopefully) get beat, than see your own team win…

Wembley won’t matter so much as they’ll be lost in a huge crowd but they will be there to cause trouble and spoil family days out. Sad

So much for people feeling the pinch if they're booking a train from Newcastle and 2 night stay in Wycombe just to demonstrate massive tin pottery towards their neighbours. Imagine that when you're owned by a billionaire and sitting in the Premier League, they're as obsessed as norwich are with us.
