Think I’m out of touch with the window cleaning trade haha

Asked a couple for a quote to clean the windows on a mid terrace house, 3 windows all together and double doors at the back, been quoted £25 and £30 for a one off clean or £13/£15 based on regular 6/8 week cleans - obviously they do it to get the guaranteed business but thought I one off clean would be around £10/15.

Anyone still get a window cleaner regular or are you not lazy and do it yourself?

I think your £10/£15 is about on the money. Make sure you have an agreed price first, because if there's one thing you want from a window cleaner, it's transparency.

I suppose they always try and squeegee out a bit more.

Think I pay £35 every 8 weeks but there are quite a few windows, shouldn't live in a greenhouse really.

£15 for a regular window cleaning service seems very reasonable, probably on the cheap side especially if they are using one of those carbon fibre window cleaning poles as they can get very expensive! I saw the one my window cleaner was using as it has the website of the window cleaning pole supplier written in big white letters on the window cleaning pole https://wfp.co.uk/ just look at the prices! £408 for a pole with a brush on the end! but its obviously working as he is always fully booked. probably worth getting one as a business but not to just clean your own house windows

Don’t bother to clean the windows it’s much cheaper

In those far off days when Mrs E thought clean (or badly cleaned) windows were oh-so important, I found the biggest issue was having the cash lying around as it had usually been spent on something else.

Brought a long pole soap and cloth thing off Amazon for about £30. Does the trick and only takes a few minutes. A bucket of soapy water is all that is needed.

Ours is £38 every 6 weeks, but we do have quite a few across 3 floors.

He uses some kind of filtered warm water too, which makes it easier to clean/dry or something.
