Government promised to enact the recommendations of the independent enquiry, but have now rolled back on the recommendation that there should be bespoke evacuation plans for disabled residents. Nearly half the disabled residents of Grenfell lost their lives.
Reasons cited include: “the Home Office said it has decided it is not proportionate or practical to introduce the plan, citing problems such as the costs to landlords.”
I know a lot of people are fed up with Govt bashing and it all gets lost in the noise, but just think about this for a second. Think about what it says about their attitude towards the vulnerable and who they’re more interested in keeping happy.
