I think the difference here (not knowing the situation at Bristol City) is that MA is being held accountable all along the way. He’s got Mike O’Leary above him guiding and checking on him. He’s got Ed Schwartz who holds the purse strings. He’s got the 3 lions in constant contact. It’s not as if he can just go off and spunk away a load of money without it being checked, double checked and triple checked. He’s heavily audited and scrutinised. It must actually be a very tough role for him and personally I think he seems to be doing a very good job so far. [Post edited 20 May 2022 10:40]

I'd be intrigued to know what sort of money they (Narwich) intend on spending this summer. I would imagine they could get £15-20m for Max Aarons which will boost their budget but I can't see many other saleable assets in their squad these days.
I really wish Pukki would leave them as you know he's going to get 20+ every time he plays in that division.
I'm delighted we're protecting our assets and rewarding good performance. I can't see how that's being suggested as a bad thing by them. |  |

We are protecting our assets, Burns and Wolfenden are two of our salable assets, and getting them deals will mean we can command a better price for them if bids do come in and the players want to leave, which is exactly what Evans did when he signed Wickham to a long term deal and sold him weeks later, Aluko is the same contract as before but with a year added on, Simpson has been resigned to be sold.
Resigning them doesn't necessarily mean we are keeping them, and the club certainly won't be talking up transfers of key players before the ST sales are in,. |  |
