He's not going to criticise or blame the players because it's not his style, but they didn't believe they could win. Oh, and their decision-making was shocking.
He's just as much of a prat as the other Pauls really, just in a different way.

Does he not have an assistant or a coach he can throw to the wolves like he did here?
Any respect he did have from the fans would rapidly disappear if he sent someone else out to face the music. It looks as his time at Chesterfield is almost an action replay of how it panned out for him here. But remember this - he doesn’t like to criticise players.

Bit rich that when you’re trying to make a story out of nothing and mis-reporting the quote. He said, “our decision making” meaning collectively as a team not individuals or players.

Blimey you're right, actually he never chucks his players under the bus at all.

League One with Barnsley by all accounts.
That would be delightful given they're in our division and could be a handful under the right management. I think Duff is far more likely though, which selfishly is a shame as he's done a good job at Cheltenham and feels like exactly the sort of steady, pragmatic pair of hands that could take Barnsley to the top 3 or 4 next season. Couldn't really begrudge Barnsley supporters that though, they've always been a good bunch and deserve better than Cook.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Well the good news is Mach, at this rate your hero will be down to the level of coaching Sunday league sides to mid-table obscurity, so you'll probably be able to watch his tactical genius at work in a park near you.
