No idea why I thought Sheffield United was twice.

i reckon if you add on "without ever reaching the final" that sounds about right (as i'm sure some of the big clubs have lost more than 4).

Yep think you & Beckets are right
We have always played the first leg at Portman Road strangely enough. Even went into the second leg 1-0 up on three of those occasions.
Even though the Norwich one still hurts till this day I still cannot believe we blew the 2nd leg at Birmingham. [Post edited 8 Jun 2022 18:48]

Surprisingly no team outside the top flight has won the League Cup since the Premier League was formed in 1992.

So it doesn't even serve the purpose of giving the smaller teams something realistic to aim for. It's won with ease by teams who really don't care about and have no real use for it apart from keeping their legion of squad players fit and happy. Another tool for the top few. As I see it, its only function is to stop the FA Cup being seen as the joke competition. |  | | |
